10. Two wonderful golf courses
Ixtapa and its two golf courses make this tropical destination a real paradise for golfers of all levels: the Palma Real golf course, with its 18 holes and natural lakes and tropical vegetation, and the Marina Ixtapa Golf course, renowned for its creative holes with water canals across the field.

9. Surf
There are a large number of beaches at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and its surroundings which are very popular among local and foreign surfers. The water has a good temperature all year long, and the beaches are ideal for longboards as well as shortboards. Find more info at the surf section.

8, King of kings
Near the Las Gatas beach, under water, in the Bahía de Zihuatanejo bay, an impressive 4 meters high Christ sculpture is located, a unique submarine sanctuary and part of the Via Crucis of the Holy Friday. The top of the Christ can be seen from outside the water.

7. The top American Pacific coral reef for its biodiversity
Coral reef with bright colors offering more than 40 diving spots, from non-deep corals for snorkelling to 30 meters deep submarine canyons. We have sunk boats in the area as well.

6. Events
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is the location for a great variety of sport and cultural events through out the year. The most outstanding ones being the Sailfest, the Guitar International Festival, the International Sailfish Fishing Contest, the International Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Triathlon, among others.

5. Wild life
Ixtapa Zihutanejo is as well a good pick for nature lovers: the Cocodrilarium located in Playa Linda; witnessing the release of carey turtles, laud and golfinas or admire some of the more than 300 bird species we have in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.

4. Weather
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo not only enjoys a good weather all along the year, with an annual average of 75°- 82° degrees Fahrenheit, but it's geographic location keeps this paradise away from hurricanes and sudden temperature changes.

1. Twin destination
Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is the dual tourist location where the pleasurable experience of a traditional port combines the comfort of a modern Infrastructure and services that compete with the best in the world. The development centre known as "El Dorado Pacífico" is composed of two coastal towns. While Zihatanejo maintains the feel of typical fishing town, Ixtapa is a modern planned tourist complex. Despite their differences in character, they share 24 km of golden coastline, sculpted by small bays hidden by lush green hills that follow the curve of the coastline.
